PTA Mission

The overall purpose of the PTA is to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.

Treasurer

The Treasurer is responsible for all the finances of the PTA. Responsibilities include book keeping of all finances and writing out checks throughout the year for any reimbursements as well as any dues/business for PTA.  The treasurer works with the tax account as he files for the tax returns.   Must file local state forms timely and is the liaison to President regarding budget and finances.  Must do yearly budgets and run financial report for every PTA meeting.

VP of Scheduling & Room Representatives

The room rep coordinator is responsible for allocation of room reps for every class K- 5 grade.  This includes collecting requests, assigning reps to each class and recruiting, if necessary.  He/she is the liaison with the office administrator for any upcoming events/rules and special communication, which in turn needs to be communicated to all room representatives.  The room rep coordinator sends out communication via email to all room reps, which needs to be passed on to their respective class for communicating any information whether it’s school related or PTA events.  The room rep coordinator is also responsible for briefing all room reps of their duties and responsibilities throughout the year.  Apart from being a room rep, this position requires you to set a meeting with school administrators to get a yearly schedule so that it is final on the calendar.  All scheduling of events is done through a portal and scheduling of events is updated on the PTA website.

VP of Community Relations

The Community Relations chair is responsible for organizing all family fun events throughout the year! This involves planning the event, organizing, sending flyers, keeping track of RSVP’s and organizing snacks. Family fun events include, Ice cream social, Bingo night, overseeing Talent show, Trick or Trunk, Aspen ice event, and Movie nights.  Additionally, arranging bagel breakfast at the beginning of the year for staff, arranging an ice cream social before school year begins, and arranging a Kindergarten bagel breakfast during K- orientation.

VP of Communications: the VP of Communications is responsible for sharing information about all PTA-sponsored and PTA-related events and activities with OFRS parents and families throughout the school year as follows: writing and sending one weekly (Sunday) email via the MailChimp service (additional eblasts may be sent when necessary); updating the OFRS PTA website as needed; uploading hardcopy forms, flyers, etc. to the OFRS PTA website as needed; and managing his/her own PTA email account.
